OxSym - Oxford Symposium on Artificial General Intelligence and Machine Consciousness
The foundation, in partnership with the publishers Taylor & Francis, manages the Oxford Symposium on Artificial General Intelligence and Machine Consciousness - OxSym. This annual event at Oxford brings together academia and industry to address the greatest scientific & technological challenge of our age: understanding the neurobiological basis of consciousness in the brain and the future development of sentient machines.
Venue of the Oxford Symposium on Artificial General Intelligence
and Machine Consciousness 2021.
The development of machines that are able to perceive their sensory environment like the brain, and operate flexibly within it, will transform industrial sectors such as social care, smart manufacturing, security and defence. OxSym aims to promote multidisciplinary discussion and collaboration in this field, drawing together psychologists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians and philosophers.
The proceedings of the annual symposium are published in the foundation’s official journal Network: Computation in Neural Systems. The Editor-in-Chief is Dr Simon Stringer, who is also the Research Director of OFTNAI.
Do get in touch with with us if you are interested in joining us for the next edition of our Symposium.
